SAFETY IS A VALUE!--Priorities can be changed, but not values.

Do you know all of the hazards on your work site or in your plant?
Do you know that new hazards may appear at any time?
Start with requesting an inspection. I'll let you know what I find and provide suggestions for eliminating or at least mitigating the hazards.
I’m Passionate about Safety—not the timid “I’ll never cross the street because a runaway truck could come along and…” But the “I will follow my Dream—wherever it leads—and come back alive, intact, with all my limbs, digits, eyes and teeth” kind of safety.  Charles Lindberg said, “What kind of man would live where there is no daring?  I don’t believe in taking foolish chances, but nothing can be accomplished without taking any chance at all.”  This Passion drives people who achieve great things, as Lindberg did in 1929.  And it drives the very best of us, in all walks of life.

My second Passion is to share my Passion for safety-as-a-value with others, leading by example.  This drove me to lead my organization to the coveted OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Certification.  Achieving VPP Star Certification is a worthy challenge.  The VPP requirement for continuous improvement provides further challenge.  But would you do anything else?  It is well worth the effort and investment.  When employees tell you that they are wearing safety glasses and sturdy shoes when mowing their own lawns because of what they’ve learned and practiced at work, one knows that safety has gone beyond being a part of organizational culture and truly become a Value for them—and they are beginning to get Passionate about it.
